Helping protect the birds of the Pacific
THE PROJECT
BirdLife International is a leading global NGO dedicated to bird and nature conservation. Our job was to strengthen strategic communications for their Pacific regional office, ensuring that their work, achievements and impact were communicated clearly and strategically.
THE CHALLENGE
The team was delivering important conservation work across the Pacific, but communications lacked an overarching strategic approach. This made it difficult to consistently communicate impact, align communications with organisational priorities, and ensure staff had the direction and skills needed to deliver communications effectively.
THE SOLUTION
We developed a practical communications strategy that connected communications activity directly to organisational priorities and impact.
We then worked alongside the team to embed it - workshopping and training staff, providing coaching as they implemented the strategy, and building their confidence and capability to communicate more strategically.
To demonstrate the approach in practice, we also developed an impact report showcasing BirdLife’s work and achievements.
THE RESULTS
A more focused and streamlined approach to communications, centred on demonstrating impact and supporting strategic priorities. It also built internal capability, giving staff greater strategic direction, practical skills and confidence to deliver stronger communications themselves.
Rather than simply creating better communications, we helped build a team better equipped to communicate its impact.
