THE PROJECT
Road Trauma Families Victoria (RTFV) is a not-for-profit organisation providing emotional support to individuals and families affected by road trauma. RTFV also plays a key advocacy role, ensuring the voices of victims are heard by decision-makers.
A comprehensive program manual for Raw2Roar – an early intervention initiative that supports young people impacted by road trauma. The manual needed to capture the therapeutic foundations of the program and provide a clear, practical guide for future delivery.
THE CHALLENGE
Each year in Victoria, hundreds of young people are affected by road trauma — whether through the loss or injury of a loved one, or personal involvement in an accident. While the Raw2Roar program offered a powerful and unique response to this trauma, there was no formalised manual to support consistent, scalable delivery. Capturing the program’s complex blend of psychological care, peer support, and therapeutic recreation in an accessible, trauma-informed format was essential.
THE SOLUTION
Working closely with RTFV, child psychologists, allied health professionals and the Transport Accident Commission, we led the development of a practical and clinically sound program manual. The process was highly collaborative and grounded in trauma-informed principles. The final manual outlines the structure, delivery, and therapeutic underpinnings of Raw2Roar ensuring sound and consistent delivery.
THE RESULTS
The Raw2Roar manual strengthened the program’s delivery providing consistent, evidence- informed framework that can be used by facilitators, psychologists, and support staff, ensuring that all young participants receive a safe, supportive, and meaningful experience.
